Led by the Chairman Ernesto Gamberini, the MG2 Group is based in Pianoro, in the province of Bologna, in the heart of the Italian Packaging Valley. In the plant, with an overall covered area of 15.000 m2, are working about 170 employees. Over 90% of the turnover comes from the international market, where MG2 is present thanks to its branches in the United States, Russia and China, and an extensive network of agents.
MG2 boasts a long tradition of excellence, as it entered the market in 1966 with a world novelty: the first continuous-motion capsule filler (Mod. G36). Since then MG2 supplied thousands of machines to small and medium size as well as to multinational Companies all over the world. Today, the MG2 Group is a leader in the manufacture of automatic machines used to dose pharmaceuticals into hard gelatine capsules ranging from size 000 to 5 including tamper-proof capsules.
As well as machines used to dose products into hard gelatine capsules and other small containers, the company also manufactures, in the Process Division, complementary production quality control machines while, since 1997, the Packaging Division has been in charge of designing and manufacturing automatic packaging machines for pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and foodstuffs.
All MG2 products are marked by their advanced technology, quality and reliability. The MG2 manufacturing system employs the very latest automated/computerized machining centre and equipment to produce complex, critical components. Components are subject to stringent quality testing using sophisticated three-dimensional tools and analytical test methods. The MG2 Group invests 6% of turnover in Research and Development to ensure the highest level of technological innovation for its products. The R&D department employs 43 designers.
